A comforting Midwest casserole layered with ground beef and tater tots, baked until bubbly and golden.

Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius.
In a large skillet, cook 500 g of ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
Add 1 can of diced tomatoes and 1 cup of frozen mixed vegetables to the skillet, stirring to combine. Season with 0.5 teaspoon of salt and 0.25 teaspoon of black pepper.
Transfer the beef mixture to a baking dish and spread evenly.
Layer 500 g of tater tots on top of the beef mixture.
Sprinkle 1 cup of cheddar cheese evenly over the tater tots.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the tater tots are golden brown.
