In a large pot, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add 500g of sliced beef and cook until browned.
Add 1 can of coconut milk and 3 tablespoons of curry paste to the pot, stirring well to combine. Cook for about 5 minutes.
Stir in 2 tablespoons of fish sauce, 1 tablespoon of lime juice, and 0.5 cup of chopped peanuts. Let simmer for an additional 15 minutes.
In the last few minutes of cooking, add 0.25 cup of chopped basil and stir well. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Serve the Massaman curry hot over fluffy rice or with warm flatbread.
