In a small bowl, mix together 2 tablespoons of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, 1 teaspoon of paprika, 0.5 teaspoon of oregano, 0.5 teaspoon of salt, and 0.25 teaspoon of cayenne pepper for the taco seasoning.
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add 500 grams of ground beef and cook until browned, about 7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary. Stir in 2 tablespoons of the homemade taco seasoning and 0.5 cup of water. Simmer for 5 minutes.
For the grilled chicken, season 500 grams of chicken breast with 2 tablespoons of the taco seasoning. Grill over medium heat for 6-8 minutes per side or until fully cooked. Let cool slightly and slice into strips.
In a small pot, heat 1 can of black beans with 0.5 teaspoon of cumin and 0.5 teaspoon of garlic powder on low heat for about 5 minutes. Set aside.
For the pico de gallo, mix 2 diced medium tomatoes, 0.25 cup of chopped cilantro, 0.25 cup of diced red onion, 1 tablespoon of lime juice, and a pinch of salt in a bowl.
To make the guacamole, mash 2 avocados in a bowl and mix with 1 tablespoon of lime juice, 0.25 cup of diced red onion, and a pinch of salt.
Arrange the taco bar with bowls of spiced beef, grilled chicken strips, black beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, 0.5 cup of sour cream, and warmed taco shells or tortillas.
Allow guests to create their tacos with their choice of proteins and toppings.
