A traditional Vietnamese sandwich featuring crispy baguette, marinated pork, quick pickles, fresh cucumber, cilantro, jalapeños, and a savory spread of pâté.

To make the quick pickles, combine vinegar, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Add julienned daikon and carrots, toss well, and let sit for 15 minutes.
In a separate bowl, mix soy sauce, fish sauce, sugar, garlic, and black pepper. Add pork slices, stir to coat, and marinate for 15 minutes.
Preheat a grill or frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook the pork for 3-4 minutes on each side until cooked through and slightly charred. Set aside.
Slice the baguettes lengthwise, leaving one side attached. Spread pâté on one side of each baguette.
Fill each baguette with cooked pork, a layer of pickled daikon and carrots, cucumber slices, cilantro leaves, and jalapeño slices.
Serve immediately.
