Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
In a large pot, cook 250 g of macaroni pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, 250 g of cooked shredded chicken, 100 g of cooked bacon (chopped), 1 cup of buttermilk, 0.5 cup of ranch dressing, 0.5 cup of cheddar cheese (grated), and 0.5 teaspoon of black pepper. Mix well to coat the pasta evenly.
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with an additional 0.5 cup of cheddar cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Optional: garnish with chopped chives.
