A hearty Polish stew that combines savory pork with cabbage, cooked low and slow for tenderness. Perfectly paired with crusty bread or over mashed potatoes.

In a large pot, heat 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add 500g of pork (diced) and brown on all sides.
Add 1 chopped onion and 2 cloves of minced garlic to the pot. Cook until the onion is translucent.
Stir in 1 can of diced tomatoes, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of bay leaves. Bring to a simmer.
Add 1 medium head of chopped cabbage and 300g of baby potatoes (halved) to the pot. Stir well and reduce heat to low.
Cover and let simmer for 60 minutes, stirring occasionally. If the stew becomes too thick, add 0.5 liter of water.
Adjust seasoning if needed and serve hot with crusty bread or over mashed potatoes.
