In a large pot, heat 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat until melted.
Add 500 grams of beef steak, cut into small pieces, and cook until browned, about 10 minutes.
Stir in 1 can of diced tomatoes (about 400 grams), 1 teaspoon of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of cumin, and 0.5 teaspoon of black pepper. Mix well.
Add 1 cup of water and bring to a simmer. Lower the heat and let it cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve hot, garnished with chopped chives if desired.
